Let’s talk about one of the most requested lip blush shades: red. While it may seem bold at first glance, many of my clients choose red knowing it won’t heal to a bright, true red. Due to the natural undertones in the lips, it typically softens into a pinky-red or even a bit deeper pinkish red tone depending on your complexion. It’s a beautiful, wearable color once healed.

🫟I offer a full range of pigment options—from soft and natural to bold and defined. And with the right technique, even bold shades can heal with a more watercolor, translucent finish if desired. It’s all about customizing to your unique lips.

🙋🏼‍♀️Common questions:

🚿Q: Can I shower and wash my hair?
🚿A: Yes! Just avoid long hot steamy showers or standing with the shower stream directly on your fresh PMU. This could cause very poor retention and premature peeling resulting in little to no retention.

💧Q: Can I sweat?
💧A: No, aside from the infection risk... salt (found in saline removal and sweat)🧂removes pigment from open skin. If you sweat you will not only increase your risk of an infection... you WILL ruin your results.

🏊‍♀️ Q:Can I swim?
🏊‍♂️A: Being in a pool, in a shady spot with a 👒 hat and large 🕶 sunglasses is not an issue... However, face down swimming pool, lake or ocean water on your fresh PMU is not allowed. Never submerge your tattoos in water during healing. There are multiple reasons for this... 1) the harsh chemicals in pools are not good for your healing skin. 2) The risk for infection or a healing issue will increase significantly... The list goes on but you get the idea!💡
You can submerge your face again once the skin is fully healed.

🧼Q:Can I wash my eyebrows?
🧼A: Yes! You may wash the area 2 times per day for approximately 10 seconds with the soap provided in your aftercare bag.

💯A friendly reminder: NEVER apply ointment to a tattoo or PMU that is still damp. You must let the area dry completely before applying ointment! 💋

🎀Read your email!
The first step to a successful appointment is to read your pre care instructions. They are attached to your confirmation and immediately delivered upon scheduling. If you have questions about these instructions please text us.
🩺If you have any major medical conditions, you must obtain a physician’s release. Please bring this release with you to your appointment.

🎀For lip appointments, we suggest bringing your favorite lipsticks with you. For brow appointments, you may bring your favorite brow products with you. The benefits to this (other than color selection) is that your artist can see the opacity of the products you use.

🎀You can bring a photo of how you normally wear your daily makeup if you would like. If you bring photos…please bring a realistic photo that is not filtered. 😉 Filtered photos are not helpful as many are unrecognizable, they completely change facial features.

🎀Dress so you are comfortable. You may bring a blanket and your AirPods if you would like. I can’t give you a blanket, but you can bring your own. 😉

🎀The most crucial preparation is to follow your pre care instructions! At your appointment, we will thoroughly discuss color, shape, placement, desired result, and technique. You are not required to bring photos or makeup with you. Please come calm and relaxed. We will be able to discuss more thoroughly and effectively if you are relaxed.

🎀We understand that permanent makeup can feel overwhelming to many. Our goal is to make the procedure as easy for you as possible. Some clients may ask their artist to select their shade for them. As artists, we understand how the body heals and other factors that the client may not… for this reason we are always happy to select for you! However, you will still be shown the color, shape and placement and be asked to approve before we begin. 😉

Let’s talk about swelling 🐡

No, it isn’t permanent. It also isn’t predictable. The majority of our clients have only experienced very minimal swelling. But for some, the swelling is more than anticipated. Good news though! Swelling from cosmetic tattooing subsides fairly quickly. For lip appointments, we suggest not making plans the day of your appointment that you wouldn’t want to go to swollen. The next day, most of my ladies wish their minimal swelling would stay, and start to think about getting filler. 😉

I have attached photos of myself after procedures on this video. I have extreme swelling with almost every treatment that I have. Despite my best efforts of taking arnica, dandelion root, and histamine blockers (before and after treatment)… I still have this amount of swelling after my little to no downtime treatments. For me, this is completely normal and not alarming. For my cosmetic tattoos, I always look significantly better within hours, and pretty normal the next morning.

👄Fun fact: I only have a handful (out of thousands) of clients who swell like I do.

Procedure swelling selfies include: Lip blushing, Moxi, BBL, and lip filler. All done by incredibly amazing providers and my healed results from all of my treatments are beautiful. This is why we trust the process.

Yes, in every one of these photos, I still went places after. I went to work like that, restaurants, the airport, etc. If someone looks at me funny I just say “I had a laser” or “lip tattoo” Surprisingly the response is usually “I want a lip tattoo” or “Oh I’ve been wanting a laser, which one did you have?” Rarely do I get a negative response. 💕Scrolling through social media is great, but sometimes the bold look of fresh permanent makeup can be a bit intimidating. We understand! How do we choose the appropriate color for you? What factors determine how bold it will be?

💕First, I determine what skin type you have. Next, we look at factors such as your age and the undertone of your skin. Also, your lifestyle and sun exposure. From here we have a general idea of how you will most likely heal.

💕After this we will discuss your daily routine and what makeup products you currently using in that area.This will give me a better understanding of your goal for your healed look.

💕After this, I make my color recommendations based on all the factors listed above. In my studio we select your color together. I do not choose for you unless you tell me to. Even then, I will make sure you approve before we begin.

💕There are other factors that contribute to your healed look including (but not limited to) cartridge size and configuration, saturation, modifiers and dilution. This is always determined by your artist after they identify your skin type, undertone and age/skin health.

🎀For lip appointments, we suggest bringing your favorite lipsticks with you. For brow appointments, you may bring your favorite brow products with you. The benefits to this (other than color selection) is that your artist can see the opacity of the products you use.

🎀You can bring a photo of how you normally wear your daily makeup if you would like. If you bring photos…please bring a realistic photo that is not filtered. 😉 Filtered photos are not helpful as many are unrecognizable, they completely change facial features.

I did her lip blushing three years ago—yes, this is a three-year healed result no lip balm! This photo was taken just before we did her color refresh appointment. ✨

💄💉I get asked all the time: What happens if you get lip filler after lip blushing? The simple answer—it won’t harm your lip blush! It might sheer out the color a little if you’re getting a substantial amount of filler, kind of like blowing up a balloon. 🎈 When deflated, a balloon might be a super bright pink, but as it stretches, the color softens. But guess what? It’s still a pink balloon!

When I originally did her lips, she had no filler. Now she does, and they look even more gorgeous! 💕 Lip blushing and lip filler truly make the perfect pair! 👯‍♀️
